You will start out by default in your 'Documents' directory. Click on the 'Select File' button and you will be presented with a dialog box showing your Mac's filesystem. Next, you will be asked where to store your volume. For simplicity, choose a standard volume, and then click 'Next' to continue. In the following step, you are asked what kind of volume to create, a standard volume or a hidden volume. The default option is to create an 'encrypted file container' which is essentially an encrypted file that can be mounted as a disk. The TrueCrypt Volume Creation Wizard will begin. Create your first encrypted volumeĬlick on the 'Create Volume' button. If you chose the standard location for your installation then simply open up your Applications folder and run TrueCrypt.
